If I can make it in New York, I can make it anywhere...

For my job, I travel a bit here and there. I will be the first to admit, I'm not a very experienced traveler and get nervous at times. Mostly about getting stranded and missing planes and stuff like that. But I am getting better. This marathon traveling I've been doing the past month for work has helped me make big, I mean HUGE strides in my traveling confidence.

So, on Monday, I'm off to New York City for a week. I'll be spending a few days there for work, well in Long Island, technically. And then early, early Friday morning, Roommate is flying out and we are going to spend the weekend there. I'm pretty excited and nervous all at the same time. I've been in big cities before, hell, I lived in Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale for a year each, but they don't really compare to the scale and immensity that is New York City. The premier "big city" for this small town/city boy.

I am so looking forward to it. If I can survive JFK airport and the limited driving I'll being doing in Long Island (I've been assured it is more residential-ish than Manhattan and so I should be okay), then I know I can really do this traveling thing.

Probably the biggest boon for me with this trip is getting to see Allison Janney in 9 to 5: The Musical. In case you don't know...I LOVE Allison Janney. I fell in love with her in the West Wing and it just grows as I see her in other things. Grows and grows and grows. Brando told me that if I go around to the stage door and wait after the show, there is a chance I might get to meet her, get a picture of/with her or an autograph or something. I can tell you right now that even the possibility of that is sending me through the roof!

So look for updates in the next week to see if I survive the big city!
