Dear President Obama,
Congratulations on your Nobel Peace Prize. And I really mean that. I honestly have no idea what goes into the selection and awarding of the Nobel Prizes, but I am sure it is done by men and women that are like a billion times smarter and more in touch with the world than I am. I fail to understand how this honor is being turned against you or why anyone would want to do that. Yes, I voted for you and for the most part I am very proud that I did. Could you do more on your campaign promises, yes, I believe you could. However, I understand that there are limitations on you even when working with a majority in both houses. As a gay man living as something of a second-class citizen, I truly wish you would move on many of the items you talked about in your campaign, such as repealing the DADT military policy, expanding federal benefits to same-sex couples, repealing DOMA and especially health care reform. Yes, you are making health care a priority...but there has to be more that can be done. There has to be a way to make it better. There has to be a way to keep what works and fix what is broken. So yes, I believe you have a lot of great works that are still in front of you that could be accomplished. But even still, congratulations on your Nobel Peace Prize and as you call it "your call to action".
Sincerely,
Flamingo
